Jay Sanders, M.D., President, American Telemedicine Association. Even over the phone, Jay Sanders, M.D., is a pretty charismatic guy. In fact, Sander's passion and command of telemedicine - in which he's considered a founding father of sorts - threatens to pull the listener right into the reciever. . What Sanders has to say about telemedicine, its possibilities and the considerable barriers it faces, depict a technology that's in a stage of development akin to the early days of computers - everyone knows they have to have one, but very few are really sure what they'll do with it. He's much in demand, both for speaking engagements on telemedicine, and as a national advisor on how to use and aid the development of this technology. . PPD managed to catch up with Sanders during a short break in an exhausting schedule that had him crisscrossing from Georgia to Australia to Washington, D.C., in the space of two weeks.
